Rows count from the top and columns from the left. The rule doing most of the work: no more than two suns or two moons may sit next to each other in a row or column.
- Row 3 has two moons side by side in columns 2 and 3, so column 4 of that row is a sun.
- Column 3 has two moons one above the other in rows 2 and 3, so row 4 of that column is a sun.
- Row 2 has moons in columns 1 and 3, so column 2 between them is a sun: another moon would make three in a row.
- Column 2 needs just one more moon, and the × sign between rows 4 and 5 means one of those two cells is a moon. So row 6 of that column is a sun.
- Row 6, column 3 is joined by an × sign to the sun to its left, so it is the opposite: a moon.
- Column 3 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, row 5, is a sun.
- Suppose row 1, column 6 were a moon. Then row 1 would have its three moons, so columns 4 and 5 of that row would be suns. That would make three suns in a row, in columns 3, 4, and 5 of row 1. So row 1, column 6 is a sun.
- Suppose row 2, column 5 were a moon. Then row 2, column 6 would be a moon too, because of the = sign to its left. That would give row 2 four moons, and it can only hold three. So row 2, column 5 is a sun.
- Row 2, column 6 is joined by an = sign to the sun to its left, so it is a sun too.
- Row 2 has two suns side by side in columns 5 and 6, so column 4 of that row is a moon.
- Column 6 has two suns one above the other in rows 1 and 2, so row 3 of that column is a moon.
- Row 4, column 6 is joined by an = sign to the moon above it, so it is a moon too.
- Column 6 has two moons one above the other in rows 3 and 4, so row 5 of that column is a sun.
- Row 6, column 6 is joined by an × sign to the sun above it, so it is the opposite: a moon.
- Row 3 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, column 5, is a sun.
- Column 5 has two suns one above the other in rows 2 and 3, so rows 1 and 4 of that column are moons.
- Row 4 has two moons side by side in columns 5 and 6, so column 4 of that row is a sun.
- Row 4 has two suns side by side in columns 3 and 4, so column 2 of that row is a moon.
- Row 5, column 2 is joined by an × sign to the moon above it, so it is the opposite: a sun.
- Row 5 has two suns side by side in columns 2 and 3, so columns 1 and 4 of that row are moons.
- Row 1 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, column 4, is a sun.
- Row 4 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, column 1, is a sun.
- Row 5 already has its three suns, so its last open cell, column 5, is a moon.
- Column 5 has two moons one above the other in rows 4 and 5, so row 6 of that column is a sun.
- Row 6, column 4 is joined by an × sign to the sun to its right, so it is the opposite: a moon.
- Row 6 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, column 1, is a sun.

How to play Tango
- Fill every cell with either a sun or a moon.
- Each row and each column holds the same number of suns and moons — three of each on a 6×6 board.
- No more than two identical symbols may sit next to each other in a row or column.
- Cells joined by = must match; cells joined by × must be opposites.
