Rows count from the top and columns from the left. The rule doing most of the work: no more than two suns or two moons may sit next to each other in a row or column.
- Rows 3 and 4 of column 5 are joined by an = sign, so they match. Two moons there would make three in a row with the moon in row 5, so both are suns.
- Row 2, column 5 is joined by an × sign to the sun below it, so it is the opposite: a moon.
- Row 2, column 4 is joined by an = sign to the moon to its right, so it is a moon too.
- Row 2, column 3 is joined by an × sign to the moon to its right, so it is the opposite: a sun.
- Row 2 has two moons side by side in columns 4 and 5, so column 6 of that row is a sun.
- Row 2 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, column 1, is a sun.
- Column 1 has two suns one above the other in rows 1 and 2, so row 3 of that column is a moon.
- Suppose row 6, column 1 were a sun. Then column 1 would have its three suns, so rows 4 and 5 of that column would be moons. That would make three moons in a row, in rows 3, 4, and 5 of column 1. So row 6, column 1 is a moon.
- Suppose row 6, column 2 were a moon. Then row 6 would have two moons side by side in columns 1 and 2, so column 3 of that row would be a sun. Then row 6 would have its three moons, so columns 4 and 5 of that row would be suns. That would make three suns in a row, in columns 3, 4, and 5 of row 6. So row 6, column 2 is a sun.
- Rows 4 and 5 of column 2 are joined by an = sign, so they match. Two suns there would make three in a row with the sun in row 6, so both are moons.
- Row 3, column 2 is joined by an × sign to the moon below it, so it is the opposite: a sun.
- Row 5, column 3 is joined by an = sign to the moon to its left, so it is a moon too.
- Row 5, column 4 is joined by an × sign to the moon to its left, so it is the opposite: a sun.
- Row 5 has two moons side by side in columns 2 and 3, so column 1 of that row is a sun.
- Row 5 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, column 6, is a sun.
- Column 1 already has its three suns, so its last open cell, row 4, is a moon.
- Row 4 has two moons side by side in columns 1 and 2, so column 3 of that row is a sun.
- Row 4 has suns in columns 3 and 5, so column 4 between them is a moon: another sun would make three in a row.
- Column 3 has suns in rows 2 and 4, so row 3 between them is a moon: another sun would make three in a row.
- Column 4 has moons in rows 2 and 4, so row 3 between them is a sun: another moon would make three in a row.
- Row 3 has two suns side by side in columns 4 and 5, so column 6 of that row is a moon.
- Row 4 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, column 6, is a sun.
- Column 2 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, row 1, is a sun.
- Row 1 has two suns side by side in columns 1 and 2, so column 3 of that row is a moon.
- Column 3 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, row 6, is a sun.
- Row 6 has two suns side by side in columns 2 and 3, so column 4 of that row is a moon.
- Row 6 has moons in columns 4 and 6, so column 5 between them is a sun: another moon would make three in a row.
- Column 4 already has its three moons, so its last open cell, row 1, is a sun.
- Row 1 already has its three suns, so its open cells, columns 5 and 6, are moons.

How to play Tango
- Fill every cell with either a sun or a moon.
- Each row and each column holds the same number of suns and moons — three of each on a 6×6 board.
- No more than two identical symbols may sit next to each other in a row or column.
- Cells joined by = must match; cells joined by × must be opposites.
