What's new on hints.day

New pages, tools and fixes, newest first. Found something wrong? Tell us at hello@hints.day.

  1. A new look: each game in its own colours

Every game page now opens in that game's colours with today's starting board, so you can check it's the right puzzle at a glance. Hint buttons are bigger and easier to tap, the answer is the one dark block at the bottom, and on a computer the archive and today's other games stay beside the hints.

  2. Report a wrong answer from any puzzle page

Every daily page now has a line under the puzzle for reporting a wrong answer or a hint that gives too much away. The email opens with the game, date and page filled in.

  3. Pips solver

The new Pips solver takes today's board: check the dominoes you've placed, or reveal one piece at a time.

  4. Queens hints that explain the next move

Today's Queens page walks through the reasoning in steps: where to look first, the deduction that follows, then the first queen, before the full answer.

  5. Crossclimb archive

The Crossclimb archive now lists past puzzles by date, with a button back to today's answer.

  6. German, Spanish, French and Dutch pages use the games' own names

Local pages call the games Queens, Tango, Zip and so on, the way LinkedIn does, and answer where to find the games, why one might not load and when they reset. Reset times stay right across the clock change.

  7. Connections and Strands explained, without spoilers

Connections now explains tricky words and why each group fits, and points out the red herring. Strands explains the theme. Nothing is revealed until you tap.

  8. Better hints for Wend and Crossclimb

Each hint now leads to a different word, and no hint gives the answer away in another language.

  9. LinkedIn answers at the reset

Answers for the LinkedIn games now go up minutes after the puzzles reset each day, instead of later in the morning.

  10. LinkedIn reset times

A page with the time the LinkedIn puzzles reset in your time zone, and a table for the main cities.

  11. Archives

Every game has an archive of past puzzles, so you can look up an answer you missed.

  12. Guides

    Strategy guides for the games.
